The great advantage of using Amazon.com is one has an opportunity to listen to a sample of a CD prior to purchasing it. I did this with PRIME MERIDIAN. This opportunity caused me to purchase it.I love the stylishness of the tracks on this CD. For me, the music has a calming effect. When I know that I am going to have a bad day at the office, I’ll listen to this CD while driving to work. When I arrive, I don’t feel so bad. Listen to the samples that Amazon.com offers. If you find the music uplifting, buy it. You won’t regret it.

Alan Silvestri ! ! ! Two words that, together, mean that your movie will take life through the music, no matter what is on screen... One of the greatest composer of our time, Silvestri gives us a performance unlike anything you've ever heard. Be it relentless rhythmics that go beyond any cartoon music ever composed or the most sensual music to accompany Jessica in her every curvy movement, the soundtrack will leave you breathless (especilly if you try to dance to it)...

Scoring a live action/animation film can be a difficult thing. Do you mickey mouse every scene or play it straight? Silvestri does both, but mainly in a comic fashion. Lots of jazz musicians from the London Symphony Orchestra, as well as the orchestra itself provide the music and the result is a good one. For the jazz parts, Silvestri throws in a solo trumpet, saxophone, piano, bass, and drums. "Maroon Logo" and "Maroon Cartoon" are 2 mickey-moused tracks, meaning that every action on screen is reflected in the music. I can't help but think back to the old Warner Bros. cartoons here. "Valiant and Valiant" and "Eddie's Theme" are 2 tracks on the slightly somber side, employing the use of the wonderful jazz musicians. "The Weasels" is amusing, while "Hungarian Rhapsody" contains the scene where Donald and Daffy Duck duel with each other on the pianos. "Judge Doom" is the most ominous track on the album, sensing evil is right around the corner. "Why Don't You Do Right" and "The Merry-Go-Round Broke Down" are 2 songs from the film, the former one a sultry and swinging song sung by Jessica Rabbit in the film and the latter a comically entertaining one sung by Roger Rabbit. "Jessica's Theme" is sultry, with a slightly suspect feel to it. "The Gag Factory" is one of the highlights of the album, with the orchestra shining at its best with racing brass rhythms and strings. "The Will" is a great finale track, while "Smile Darn Ya Smile/That's All Folks!" is somewhat of a goofy song with Porky Pig quoting his famous line at the end. The best track is "End Title", which brings together all of the themes in the film into a 5 minute suite. A great effort on Silvestri's part and a wonderful recording, as well as a great orchestral performance.

...and it is absolutely wonderful. Alan Silvestri is an incredible composer. I have several soundtracks from him and I'm a huge WFRR fan to boot! This soundtrack is a must have for any fan of this movie.

4.7 stars Roger Rabbit was one of the great eye candy surprises of my life when I saw it in the theatre in '88; it truly deserves to be seen on a big screen. Soooo, it really needs a great blu-ray transfer. Hello, Bob Zemeckis and studio... One thing many fans of this film miss is that it is in fact a very cleverly-disguised conspiracy film; if you know anything about the history of L.A. and its streetcars, etc, you know what I mean. Won't say more for those who haven't seen it yet. But no one misses how perfectly constructed the script and plot are, and how fine Hoskins and Lloyd are in bringing it all to life. Hoskins's work is even more impressive when you watch the extra that shows him acting to the blank bluescreen; the guy hits his marks like a true pro, and his believable conversations with the toons are some amazing acting in every way. The man has imagination! As did the makers of this gem. It's all about Bugs Bunny and friends, of course, and they could never make this now; they got rights to use almost every old toon, and they never would these days, so rejoice that corporate greed was only halfway home in the late 80s (and we thought then it could never get worse, hoho!). Seeing all these characters together only brings home what fabulous art the classic toon makers created. This is made for adults, but kids can watch it with much joy as well. It's both very funny and very clean, no mean feat. The mixed live action/toons are done to near-perfection, and the way the toons slide around the screen adds to the feeling. The first time you see this is a real trip; be prepared and watch it on a big screen if you can. There are some extras here, and they're not bad, but what really matters is we get to see the letterboxed original version, which really matters in a film shot with this much love and care. A true work of art in most every way, the Wabbit deserves a perfect blu-ray transfer, with tons of new extras!!

i remember watching this movie when i was younger. i remember that roger had this beautiful, voloptous wife named jessica rabbit (think of a prototype of kim kardashian). yes, he was one lucky guy but i guess he wasn't like other guys who would just lust after her. this movie was funny. i like how all the characters from warner bros, mgm, and disney came together in the end.

Detective Eddie Valliant has hated toons since his brother was killed by one, but now he has to help a toon that was framed for the murder of Marvin Acme, owner of Acme Corporations and Toontown, for playing patty-cake with the toon's wife. On the way, they have to avoid a suspicious character who wants to destroy all toons using a chemical that disintegrates everything. Stop and think about this movie for a minute, and you realize that we are unbelievably fortunate that it even exists. It's a great movie. I highly recommend this for the family and friends or just a Saturday with nothing to do.

This is not a movie for small kids! The sexual references are bound and swearing is all over. But, I love it and if you kids are big enough it is ok. Jessica is a caricature of the "ideal woman" at least the producers thought. In any case make sure your kids know that she is not real and cannot be. I do not like the pout and I would hate to think on how hard it would be to walk like that all day! It had break through special effects and great acting to nothing, especially Bob Hoskins. His acting made the movie. Not easy to look at nothing an make people believe you are looking at a rabbit talking to you, but Bob Hoskins did it. Just have fun.

Modern technology may dwarf this film to a certain degree; however this pre-digital era film still stands against those of today. Especially when you consider the amount of work that went into it. The bonus features is worth the purchase alone, however Roger Rabbit is a classic in my opinion with strong characters, acting and plot. I did see it in the theatre and at a young age so my opinion is bias perhaps. I'm looking forward to seeing my niece's reaction and one day my own children's.

If you are a cynic, you will like this movie. It should also make you think about the connection between Americans and Mexicans. I hearby, declare this to be a cult movie. My main criticism is they could have put Bruce Dern and David Keith to better use. Not a great movie, but some of it told the truth.

My friend and I saw a preview for this movie with Boondock Saints. We both loved Boondock Saints so much that we decided to rent If . . . Dog . . . Rabbit . . . after seeing the preview 30 times. I swear I could feel my IQ drop at least two dozen points throughout the movie, and little did I know my friend felt the same, but we both sat through it for the other's sake. So yes, I have seen the movie all the way through and it is equally sucky all the way through. Afterward, while discussing this movie, my friend and I decided that we hated it so much that he took it out into the backyard, put it on a stump, and shot it. Honest to god. This movie was beyond bad. I enjoy Santa Claus Conquers the Martians and this movie was so bad that if I owned a gun I would have shot it a couple times myself. Save yourself $.35 and 2 hours and just jam sharpened carrots in your ears, its more enjoyable.

I Love this costume! Super sexy, and I can't wait till Halloween to wear it. I've read other reviews stating that the dress was way too big on top which is why I chose this one, being that I am a 36D, and it fit me great. So if you got it, I highly recommend it. And if you don't, well there's always stuffing and a good push up bra =)

Untapped: Creating Value in Underserved Markets Untapped: Creating Value in Underserved Markets

Reviews

Can markets representing trillions of dollars still be ignored today? These are both international and domestic markets - composed of low- to moderate-income consumers in both developing and developed nations - and who they are and why they're untapped is the subject of a guide based on seven years of research and some fifty cases. Not only are the markets identified, but five key success factors to achieving success in these markets are outlined, making UNTAPPED a top pick for business executives who want to move their companies forward. Diane C. Donovan California Bookwatch

"This book provides a straightforward framework backed up by excellent case studies that vividly describe how new business models can profitably reduce poverty at the "bottom of the pyramid" (BOP). Unlike other volumes dealing with this subject which focus solely on emerging markets, Untapped is unique in providing a depth of examples drawn from the U.S. experience. It also eschews the reductionist view that the BOP is simply another market for cheap consumer goods; instead it dedicates considerable space to the role of business in providing work opportunities and goods and services that can truly unleash the productivity and economic potential of low-income men and women. V. Kasturi Rangan, Professor of Marketing, Harvard Business School

Untapped is aimed at practicing managers and its applications concern business functions. Especially appealing is its mix of examples from the U.S. and Europe along with cases from developing-and-emerging economies. I've recommended it to South Korean executives who saw its relevance in reaching poorer markets in prosperous Seoul and unlocking opportunities in backward northeast China. It was refreshing to read, too, about hidden market opportunities in inner city Washington, D.C. where analyses of incomes, taking account of multi-family housing and the cash economy, exceeds census figures by 33 percent. The African entrepreneur who moved me into my home in nearby Bethesda has found his own gold mine in that neighborhood.

This book does a wonderful job exploring the opportunities in 'untapped' markets -- markets that have traditionally been overlooked and underserved by business. The authors highlight the spectacular growth of these markets (for example, Hispanic and inner-city customers in the United States) and how to capitalize on the opportunity this presents. Through a series of fascinating case studies (ranging from Shaw's Supermarkets to Marriott Hotels to Hewlett-Packard), the authors explore the real, practical steps companies need to take to succeed in untapped markets. Beyond being an interesting read, the book is useful to business leaders looking for actionable strategies for how to succeed in these markets. In addition, 'Untapped' goes beyond other books that address some similar issues -- the most well-known of which is C.K. Prahalad's "Fortune at the Bottom of the Pyramid" -- by looking beyond sales and marketing to topics like recruiting and human resources, regulatory issues and stakeholder engagement. In sum, a great book covering an important emerging topic.

BEARPAW Women's Pasador II Boot BEARPAW Women's Pasador II Boot

Reviews

I am a pretty small person, 5 feet tall, I have pretty normal legs. My roommate has dancer's legs and always has trouble with boots, I never have. It stands to reason that I was suprised, after reading reviews that said that people had to order a size smaller, to receive a boot that would not zip up even halfway up my calf. My boyfriend tried it on his forearm and it was uncomfortably snug. I wear a 6, 6.5 and I ordered a 7 because I like to wear big socks when its cold. I don't know if the specific boots I receieved were not correctly sized or if others who have bought them are tiny and lacking muscle in their legs. I would not be surprised if you have to return these if you buy them, and you will probably pay for return shipping, so beware.

I get compliments on theses boots every time I wear them. The back of the heal was a little stiff, but if my socks are thick enough, it's not a problem. They are super comfy and I love to pet them.

I saw these boots and fell in love. Unfortunate for me they didn't fit around my calves. I don't have problems in general finding boots that fit around my calves but these made me feel like I was 50 lbs over weight and FAT. Cute as they are, they were a major disappointment. They're going right back. :(

I searched high and low for some black lace up winter boots that are both cute/dressy, AND functional (as in, please no 4" heel when I'm trying to muck through 4' of snow!). These boots are perfect! They took a few times to get them broken in (the first time I wore them, I had blisters on the outsides of both my ankles - ouch!). As other reviewers have pointed out, they are a bit skinny in the calf. However, I wear them with thick socks and my jeans tucked into them, and they don't cut off my circulation. They are snug and warm, like they should be, IMO. I live in Flagstaff, AZ, where we get bunches of snow - I've been using these as my primary snow boot to get through 4+ feet of snow, plus walking back and forth to work when I can't dig my car out, and they are doing a great job. Like I said, functional AND cute. As far as size is concerned, I usually wear a 7.5 shoe - I ordered a size 8, and they fit fine. They seem like a normal size 8 to me, which is slightly large, but they are a snow boot and I wear thick socks with them anyway, so it's no problem. I've been wearing them a few times a week for 5 weeks now, and have noticed no problems with quality. My zippers work great, fur is not falling off, etc. I love them!

These are really cute and I wish I had small calves. They zip up the back but don't tie like they appear.
