Disney Winnie The Pooh
Winnie-the-Pooh, commonly shortened to Pooh Bear and once referred to as Edward Bear, is a fictional bear created by A. A. Milne. The character first appeared in book form in Winnie-the-Pooh (1926) and The House at Pooh Corner (1928). Milne also included several poems about Winnie-the-Pooh in the children’s poetry books When We Were Very Young and Now We Are Six. All four volumes were illustrated by E. H. Shepard.

Disney Pooh Musical Mobile Delightful DayReviewsWas very happy with the mobile I purchased for my granddaughter. Winnie and friends are very cute! I thought this product was as expected. Very easy to put together and very sturdy. I was very satisfied with my pick. The product was new and in good conditions. It hasn't took so long to arrived at my house, what I appreciate. I don't have anything to complain about. This mobile is adorable, but poorly designed. When it spins, the animals hit the arm every few turns, causing the mobile to stop. The arm needs to extend out further for it to work for more than a minute straight. This mobile works really great and keeps my little ones occupied and helps put them to sleep in the middle of the night - not sure what I would do without them! Average Rating:![]() |

Classic Pooh Character Musical Mobile in Keepsake BoxReviewsI ordered this mobile for my daughter, our first grandchild. It goes with the classic pooh crib set I also ordered. The mobile is adorable! We got this as a gift since our nursery was themed in classic pooh. My son loved the mobile as a newborn and still does (now he's 4 months old). He looks up at it and kicks, kicks, kicks all happy. It's subtle enough that it doesn't stimulate him when he wakes up in the middle of the night, which is a problem with some of those flashier mobiles he has at grandma's house. Instead, he only sees it when the lights in his room are on. I love that it winds and doesn't need batteries! Super easy to set up, too. I absolutely love this mobile! It goes perfectly with my other classic Winnie the Pooh collection. My daughter absolutely LOVES this mobile. It plays the classic winnie the pooh theme song which we sing to her and matches her nursery perfectly BUT you have to wind it up. It only lasts a few minutes so I'm constantly cranking it back up. I wish it had a switch to turn on and off instead. I would still recommend it because it is beautiful and entertaining. this is easy to move from baby's cradle to crib; it has a music box wind up that lasts about 4-5 minutes, and totally keeps baby happy when watching! Heigh-Ho! MozartReviewsI can't say enough about how great this CD is. My older brother bought it for me in 1996, and I have been listening to it intermittently ever since. At 12, it was a great introduction to composers through music that I already knew. In high school, it was fun to listen to, in order to get a better understanding of how composers differed and their styles' strongest points (and impressing my band teachers!). In college, this and a Handel CD were my go-to study music. Now, I sometimes listen to it at work. It has come to the point where I cherish these versions as much as the originals. I like all of it but a few have really captured my heart along the way: Main Street Electrical Parade Colors of the Wind Beauty and the Beast Under the Sea and best of all: I Wanna Be Like You. It's just so much fun. Conversely, they made me appreciate the beauty in some of Disney's melodies. Feed the Birds from Mary Poppins? It's amazing. I can't wait to share this CD with my kids one day, and I plan on buying it for my nieces and nephews this Christmas. Simple (some would say overly so, but why can't we just enjoy pretty music without judgment?), and just lovely. Buy it for the childen in your life (or Disney-friendly adult) who show just a smidgen of interest in classical music. It's a great introduction; it set me on the path for a lifelong appreciation of classical music. The 1st half of the CD is quite pleasant and interesting, but I found the 2nd half somewhat tedious and the selections rather remote. I couldn't identify the tunes at all. Overall, it's an nice enough to play on a long drive. I enjoy all things Disney and love instrumental music so when I heard this CD playing in my daughter's 5th grade classroom, I asked the teacher where I could purchase a copy. He suggested Amazon.com, which is where I also discovered the companion CD: Bippity Boppity Bach. Beautiful classical style, with familiar Disney tunes ... how can it not be good? ;o) These Disney tunes done in the style of classic composers are so much fun. Children and adults alike will enjoy these songs over and over. For many a baby boomer, Walt Disney meant animation. But, besides that, music played an important part in the telling of the story. So interested in music was the animator that he fashioned one of his greatest triumphs ("Fantasia") on the works of the great masters. Well, Donald Frasier and a bevy of musicians have compiled a wonderful collection of interpretations of familiar Disney tunes, many from Walt's time, along with a few latter day compositions. Every selection is a winner, destined to make the listener reflect and recall the films from which they came. And if one is familiar with the composer whose musical style is "copied" here, the album is a treasure. Average Rating:![]() |

Winnie the Pooh: Take My HandReviewsI purchased this CD 13 years ago, when I had my first son, and he loved it! If he was upset and we could not soothe him (as an infant), literally within 10 seconds he would calm down when Winnie the Pooh started playing. I had it for my now 7 year old and recently purchased it for my now 7 week old. The music is soft and the lyrics are catchy. The songs sing about all of the wonderful Winnie the Pooh characters! I love the instrumental by the Cheiftains. All of the artists have very melodic voices and really make this a great CD. I love singing along with it( even thought I can't carry a tune!) I first received this as a cassette years ago when my oldest son was very small. He loved listening to the songs when we were in the car. Today for some reason, one of the songs popped in my head and I went searching for it. I was thrilled to find it on CD! It is a wonderful addition to anyone's music library! I love this CD. My daughter loves when I sing it to her! Years ago, I purchased this album, being a fan of all things Winnie-the-Pooh. Although I enjoy the lyrics from the Disney series and movies, I do not agree with some of the interpretations. I most enjoyed the performances by The Chieftans, however! When my seven-year old daughter's tape broke, we were distraught--then we thought of ordering a CD from Amazon. Not only did we get it in record time and at a savings, but now we can all go to sleep again, dreaming of the 100 Acre woods. Average Rating:![]() |

Woozles, heffalumps, and other fans of Kanga and Roo will find themselves tapping a paw to the wide variety of musical styles on this Pooh-inspired album. From the bravado of the Chieftains' cover of the Pooh theme and the swinging, big-band sounds of Kathie Lee Gifford's rendition of "The Kanga-Roo Hop" to the cool jazz of "The Perfect Place to Hide" and Tyler Collins's poignant ballad "Never Alone (Eeyore's Lullaby)," the entire family will have plenty to sing about... |

Winnie the Pooh: Cowboy Pooh [VHS]ReviewsMy sons love this movie and ask for it to be played over and over. They both love trains and are delighted for a story that integrates Pooh & friends and trains. I only wish it would come out on dvd (we're on our second videotape since the first one wore out with so many viewings). This was one of my son's favorites when he was little, now my friend's son loves it. Great stories, especially for boys(there are trains and pirate ships). My only complaint is that they aren't available on dvd. I am going to review "Cowboy Pooh" through the eyes of my three year old. This is the reason for the five star review. He loves the movie and watches it over and over and due to the fact that there is a "Choo Choo" train in the movie does not seem to hurt! If your child is a fan of Winnie the Pooh, and likes trains you really can't go to far off on this one! While this is just a collection of episodes from the television series, my toddler was captivated, even if the entertainment value for parents is negligible. Average Rating:![]() |

The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (Walt Disney's Masterpiece) [VHS]ReviewsMy grandchildren love it and want to watch it all the time. I won the "Nana" prize! This movie was just right for our daughter when she was going through her Winnie the Pooh stage. This was never really on my list of movies to watch, but I stumbled on it one day when I had nothing to do, and was pleasantly surprised at how well it turned out. I kept in mind the sad necessity of cutting parts out of a book for a movie adaptation, and I dreaded seeing what would be left out of this one because I'm such a fan of the original Pooh books. Disney did great with Pinocchio, but Peter Pan seemed to lose something in the transition, and I hoped Pooh wouldn't suffer the same fate. Sadly, the Pooh Sticks story was left out, and as far as I know it was released on a different Pooh video cassette some years after the original full length movie. In its place is a story about the first snowfall in the hundred-acre wood that's fairly bland. That's the only flaw in the movie I could find. Everything else (besides Tigger's lack of cuteness) was either as good as the original Milne stories or actually better. The most noticeable improvement is in the character of Rabbit. He's so generic in the books, but Disney really brought him to life. And him using Pooh's rear end as a hunting trophy was one of the funniest things I've ever seen. He seems to take the place of Eeyore in a lot of the segments, suffering from all kinds of misfortune. (Eeyore doesn't show up much in the movie, probably because his character is way too depressing.) The score by the Sherman Brothers is once again top notch, and best demonstrated in the nightmare Pooh has about Heffalumps and Woozles - one of my favorite Disney movie scenes. Impressive in its creativity and humor, The Many Adventures Of Winnie The Pooh was probably by far the best Disney film released during the period from the late 60's to the late 80's. I think I can say that I don't believe there is an influence in my life greater than Winnie the Pooh. I realize that may seem silly or pathetic but Pooh was the first books read to me, the first books I read. Pooh's take on friendship, loyalty, compassion, even courage opened very young eyes to what I could be as a person before I even understood that someday I would become a person and would have to choose what type I was going to be. Values such as these should , hopefully, never become outdated. I bought this DVD for my 2 year old son who is a fanatic of Winnie the Pooh. I introduced the character through two DVD's that feature the Adventures of the Super Sleuths and we both love the videos. When he started to watch this DVD, his jaw dropped, and after 15 minutes he wanted me to stop it. I must say I agree with him. Pooh is not casted in a very good light. He fumbles constantly and he is a gluton. Eeyore is truly depressed and when Pooh gets stuck after eating to much, rabbit keeps lamenting inviting him to eat...and the bees are just laughing when thinking of stinging Pooh! If you watch the Super Sleuths, the characters all have their flaws but their talents are also highlighted, with an emphasis on team effort. I didn't grow up with Winnie the Pooh, so although I was aware of some of the characters I didn't know the real story. I am a first time Mom but an old one (45 now). What I am finding is that most of the old fashioned cartoons like Tom & Jerry or Winnie showcase what I consider outdated values. My conclusion is that simply the times have changed. Of course some of these cartoons bring us memories, and they do have some cute stuff, but we face a total different world. 40 years ago we taught our children to be afraid of wolfs and kill them, now we want to reintroduce them to the wild. Before we were awed with the development of incredible cities, now we are trying to save the last rainforests. Our children will have to be aware of AIDs, terrorism, live in an overpopulated world, learn not to discriminate against other cultures and well, the list is endless. I am choosing all the tools I can to give him a good foundation for "this brave new world" so I'm into the new versions or totally different characters like Dora and Diego The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (The Friendship Edition) Average Rating:![]() |

Winnie the Pooh Switch Plate CoverReviewsMy daughter loves Winnie the Pooh and let's just say she is not a baby. Won't give her age, but she loves this panel for her light switch. The light switch is oversized (which you can probably tell from the picture) and we were concerned about it fitting, since our light switch in the nursery is very near to the trim. But it fit and it looks great. If I had to say something negative, I would say that the Pooh figure on the light switch being raised sometimes makes it a pain to hit the switch, but it also makes it easy to hit in the dark. Very pleased with this item, it's a nice touch to the nursery. love it - it's got a very classic look to it which complements our nursery decor This is a well constructed item and it is so cute! Winnie the Pooh: Peek A Pooh LampReviewsI bought this lamp because it went along with the peek a pooh collection. I hardly use it. It's in my daughters room, but mostly for decoration. I only gave it 2 stars because I haven't used it so I dont know how well it works. I like the other idea about buying a wood lamp and using the excess border. Much cheaper. I just purchased the lamp to match the nursery bedding set..and although I think its a bit overpriced...(45 dollars is kinda high for a baby lamp)...i think theres way too much yellow in it...the company should've balanced all the colors into this lamp instead of yellow!! For the price of this lamp you can buy a wooden lamp and use the excess border to cover the shade. It looks better then this one and can match your crib and other furniture better. Also this lamp was not out when I was decorating my nursery so that is where the border idea stemmed from cause I was upset they didn't put out a matching lamp. Seeing this lamp I am glad it wasn't out. Average Rating:![]() |

Winnie the Pooh - Springtime with RooReviewsGood for this time of year (near spring/ Easter). Personally did not find it as good as some of the other Pooh movies, but it is cute. My son likes it :) My 3-year-old loves Pooh and his friends and the DVDs are not loud like some others, so I can easily deal with it around the house. Plus there is nothing scary or anything that I should be concerned about, as it sometimes happens even in G-rated movies (thinking about a 3 year old, of course). So I love it too!!! I do not understand the criticisms of this little movie I've been reading here... Simply put, Springtime With Roo is "A Christmas Carol", only Easter-style w. Pooh characters... Each of the Pooh characters performed their roles appropriate to themselves within this theme... I thought it was darling... There are always good social lessons within the Pooh renderings -- Rabbit, in himself, is a perfect opportunity for a parent to start working with their children in understanding this type of personality -- a personality they will run into again and again throughout their real lives... Just because someone innately comes off as rather crabby, does not mean they are not a good person... Within reason in working with our young ones (carefully), this is an opportunity to teach them that most of us deserve second chances, and to not look at someone who comes off crabby as the trait that defines them... Looking at people a little closer, we can often see and find other redeeming qualities... This is exactly what I feel this movie is about and, again, it IS a good lesson and opportunity for us in working with our very young children (safety issues come first, of course...) I bought this for my granddaughter who enjoys winnie the pooh as much as I do. I agree with the reviewer who said it's almost painful to watch. While it's true that this is, indeed, a different Winnie the Pooh video from all others (of course, this *should* be a "given") and the story does have a positive message (hidden somewhere for older viewers to understand), the movie is not for small children. The timeline is confusing to follow, the movie shows very little about Easter or celebrations, and Rabbit is indeed angry-- and even sometimes nasty-- throughout almost the entire film. The shame of this is that Pooh's audience is made of the youngest viewers. For me, it was annoying to spend 50 minutes reassuring and explaining things to my boys (3 and 5), and none of us was completely soothed by the last 10 minutes (? if that?) of "everything's ok now". Another complaint I have is that there is also relatively little seen of Roo, and when he's present, he is sad, disappointed or "trying to just hang in there" because of Rabbit's behavior. The title is good marketing, but not accurate. In fact, there are long scenes between Rabbit and the narrator-- which is not fun for little kids. I don't mind them using the "A Christmas Carol" storyline, but this version is weak, confusing and even scary for young children. At least with Dickens' performances, we adults can rely on costumes and other cues for timeline changes, not to mention our years of experience in understanding these things. It is not the case with this film, leaving kids behind. One reviewer makes the valid point that it's not terrible for young children not to be able to follow the story. I agree, but when the focus is on Rabbit (not one of the favorite characters like Roo or Pooh or even Piglet), and he spends almost the entire time getting upset and being mean to his friends, it's a shame-- not to mention the wrong message. I've put this DVD away for a few years when my kids are old enough not to be scared, able to follow the story, understand the message, and not mimic Rabbit's atrocious behavior. If you're simply interested in a Easter-related movie that has the Disney Pooh characters in it for an hour, this is it-- there are plenty of children who will watch it just because it has the right characters. However, if you're at all interested in a reasonable story for young children to enjoy, you're better off finding something else. Average Rating:![]() |

Friendship and compassion provide a memorable Easter celebration in Springtime with Roo. Roo's excitement on Easter morning is boundless, but when he, Winnie the Pooh, Piglet, Tigger, and Eeyore arrive at Rabbit's door for the big Easter egg hunt, Rabbit seems to have forgotten Easter and proclaims it "Spring Cleaning Day" instead... |

Growing Up With Winnie the Pooh - A Great Day of DiscoveryReviewsThis collection of Winnie the pooh episodes are from the 80's tv show, "The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh" I love this dvd because I remember the shows and my two year old boys love it two. They love pooh and tigger, plus it is not boring, so that it keeps their attention. It is a great dvd and I recommend the whole collection. My three year old son became a fan of Pooh from the new Playhouse Disney show. He enjoys this DVD. After reading the reviews, we thought this would be a great way to introduce our son to Winnie the Pooh. Big mistake. This DVD scared my child to tears. It is scary, confusing and hard for him to comprehend all the chaos going on. I was actually surprised that I also found this DVD too much for a toddler to handle. This, and the other Pooh DVD we purchased, will be going away for a couple of years. Disney did a great job with this DVD! Me and my friends watch it almost every day. There are fun games and lots of great Pooh cartoons on this DVD! Winnie the Pooh makes learning FUN!!! I bought this for my grandchildren for Xmas and have not seen it, but I have no doubt about Winnie movies, and my grandchildren were VERY happy to get it. That's all I can say for now and would go ahead and give a positive review. I won't get any REAL opinions from them until later after they've watched it, but I'm not worried, and I got this and other DVD's I ordered EXTREMELY promptly! My grandchildren (and their parents and ME love Winnie), and I am ABSOLUTELY HAPPY with Amazon! Average Rating:![]() |

Dr. Fresh Disney Pooh HumidifierReviewsThis humidifier is very cute. It works well but leaves a puddle of water underneath it. After the first couple of uses, the light stopped working, so just beware. The product in my opinion is just ok. Very cute for a childs room and it works great. Very quiet. Well worth the price. I have to admit, I was hesitant to purchase this cool-mist humidifier after reading the reviews. We primarily chose this product because it matches our Pooh-themed nursery. My husband and I crossed our fingers the first night that we tried it and to our surprise it worked perfectly. Two weeks later, it's still working great. We quickly solved the dripping problem when refilling the tank, by not removing Pooh's head and honey collar when removing the tank. We just carry the entire piece (except for the base) to the kitchen to refill. Problem solved. We also tried out the auto-shut off feature by purposely letting the humidifier run on a low tank. As stated by the instructions, the humidifier shut off and a red light came on indicating that more water was needed. An additional benefit is that it is whisper quiet, yet it delivers an impressive amount of steam. All in all, this is a fantastic product. I love using this for my son, and I also have a princess one for my daughter. The only complaint is it is difficult to find the proper level to prevent puddling. Puddling likely means it is set too high. This humidifier has worked extremely well for a year. It is completely silent. It does not smell mildewy like other cool humidifiers. And it uses only 29 watts, compared to 400+ watts for comparable output on steam humidifiers. If you have high-quality soft water, the dust that others complain about will be minimal. Disney Pooh Diaper Stacker Delightful DayReviewsThis works great! I like it a lot better than the stackers with the metal hanger. The strings that are used to attached this the changing table are prefect because they are a little longer so it gives you enough extra slack to tie it around thicker poles. Disney FriendsReviewsFace it- a lot of games made for kids, especially on the DS, are embarrassing. When my daughter turned 2 last year, she started to show a lot of interest in the DS, and one of the games I was looking into getting for her was Disney Friends here. It got solid reviews, and the one thing that stood out to me was that it seemed to be made with fun for kids in mind, and wasn't just a 'hey, this is stupidly easy to play. Let's ship it out!' release. Needless to say, I was impressed after playing around in the game a bit myself, and then seeing my daughter play the games after seeing how I did them. Now she's almost 3, and is almost completely able to play it on her own. Yes, there's text, but if you show your child how it's done, and they pay attention, there's nothing here that's too complicated. You start out by playing with the Alien from Toy Story. This gets you into the basics of gameplay and interaction with your friend. As you progress and make your friend happy, you'll get another, and eventually you'll have the 4: Simba, Stitch, Dory and Pooh. The Alien'll always be around as a tutorial buddy, but he doesn't quite count as a real interactive friend on here when you compare him to the others. You can give your friend accessories to wear, put toys in their rooms, play games with them and more. The coolest part is that they really act like they did in the movies, and respond to your actions as they should. These aren't just rushed character models with a few voice samples, though the voice samples are still fairly limited. So it's good to see that the developer took their time making things right in that department. And you gotta love hearing Stitch play with cars and cardboard buildings after you set them up, and he starts stomping through things, roaring like a monster. Some of the games you can play include making music, coloring, guessing where an object is, and much more. Again, nothing's too hard for a child to understand once they see how to do it, but older ones that can read, or are learning to, will get more out of it. There's no real object to the game once you get all the friends, but whenever you start it up, you need to try and fill up the happiness meter for each friend, via playing with them, feeding them, etc. You earn money that can be used to buy more accessories and food. If you want Stitch to have rockin' sunglasses, buy some. If you want Simba to have a rainbow afro wig, go for it! Essentially, this is the kind of game Nintendogs should've been- something with variety that proves its worth for your dollar. To me, the only things that could've made the game a 5 star game would be more spoken lines for the characters and maybe a few more accessories. But when it comes down to it, this is one of the better games for children on the DS. Disney Friends doesn't treat the player like an idiot and should keep one's attention for a good amount of time because of all there is to do with each character. But you should still check the game out for yourself before handing it to your child, or at least sit there with them and make sure they get how to do things before getting frustrated and giving up on it altogether. Give it a shot- it's a hundred times more entertaining than those other virtual pet simulators. I purchased this game from the reviews of people saying it was an easy fun game. My son is 4 and although he found the alien and stitch funny, he was not able to figure out how to open doors or get to the other characters and lost interest in the game completely! I have encouraged him to play it several times since but he says it is hard and boring. Even with me reading the prompts to him this game is still not very clear at explaining what you need to do to please the characters. In this game, you are the gaurdian to four popular Disney Characters, Pooh, Stitch, Dory, and Simba. You have to keep each character happy, feed them, make sure they sleep, and play with them, kind of like pets. Eventually, you will become each characters best friend, and you earn Gaurdian points, coins to buy various items for each character, and special items that each character will give you as you progress each day. Overall, its a fun game, although the characters may get very "needy" at times, like Pooh for example. That boy never stops eating, and he constantly wants attention, so make sure you have plenty of coins to buy him food. They all like to be pet, but dont poke them, or they get upset. You can also encounter other characters from thier movies as well, and sometimes you can interact with them too. Overall, its a fun game for any touch screen DS addict (theres one in all of us im sure), so if you are looking for something fun for your DS, this is a good one. Hi I'm an autistic adult gamer. I like this game. It has Stitch, Simba, Pooh, & Dory in it and has a lot of great aspects to it unlike in virtual pet games. Like you get to take care of stitch and the gang and just sit back and relax with your ds which is nice. I enjoy Stitch and Simba the most there my favorite characters of all time. In the movies and in the games. I like how you get to chill with the characters and take pictures. Get this game you'll enjoy it I know I do. Happy Gaming! I bought this game for my son, he became frustrated within minutes. He passed it off to me and after the long intro with Tinkerbell and the Alien I got to my first "friend", Stitch. According to the directions it was our job to keep our friends happy. We used all of our money to purchase snacks and before we knew it every sandwhich was gone. It took a little work but we finally reached our goal of making Stitch 100% happy. We were stuck, we couldn't move to the next level and we had no more money for snacks. We spent a long time trying to figure out what to do next before we finally put the game away. We've tried again and again but to no avail, we couldn't get to the next "friend". This is probably a great game if you really have the time to invest in it, which our hectic schedules just do not allow. Average Rating:![]() |

The hyphens in the character's name were later dropped when The Walt Disney Company adapted the Pooh stories into a series of Winnie the Pooh featurettes that became one of the company's most successful franchises worldwide.
The Pooh stories have been translated into many languages, notably including Alexander Lenard's Latin translation, Winnie ille Pu, which was first published in 1958, and, in 1960, became the first foreign-language book to be featured on the New York Times Bestseller List, and is the only book in Latin ever to have been featured therein.
