Chip and Dale

Chip 'n' Dale are two animated chipmunks created by The Walt Disney Company. Their names are a pun based on the name "Chippendale". This was suggested by Bill "Tex" Henson, a story artist at the studio.

The cover for this CD holder is great. However, the folders inside which hold the CD's need stronger seals. Inserting the CD's tears the seal.

This is the first album of Mannheim Steamroller that I have heard other than their Christmas offerings. I bought it because it appeared to be patriotic music, which I love. This album did not disappoint. The first track was The Star Spangled Banner. The beginning was very dramatic, the middle was a little of a letdown, but the number ended strong. The second track, American Spirit, is one of my favorites on the album. It is a dialogue addressing our freedoms, as claimed in documents such as the Declaration of Independence, and the Pledge of Allegiance. It almost made me cry, it was that inspiring. The next track, America the Beautiful, and a later track Battle Hymn of the Republic, are both more traditional, without alot of the instrumentation that MS is known for. There are also 2 tracks that are comedic in nature (Wolf Creek Pass, and Convoy). They reference the trucking industry. I thought they were hilarious! Fanfare For The Common Man is a very dramatic instrumental number. Despite others' criticism of this piece, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I also enjoyed Mt. McKinley. A couple of other instrumental tracks, Yellowstone Morning and Heritage, are very moving songs. Tin Type and Cloudburst, not so much. I mean, they're not horrible; I just don't think they belong on this album. Home on the Range is an unusual rendition. It's not my favorite, but it is a classic American song, so I guess it fits right in. This is the first review I have written where I have reviewed each track separately. But I thought I would do that because each track is worth mentioning.

I purchased rhis cd for my mom, and although I do not listen to Mannheim myself, she was very happy with it!

For those critics I would suggest you purchase a CD with strings and fabricated electronic synthesizers-really some creative work! CW is a legend in himself a GREAT AMERICAN storyteller with a huge dose of humor added to his work. I think CW (The real CW) is now in Ouray Colorado enjoying the Rockies and realizing the greatness of his story telling. I for one applaud you for creating this CD. Perhaps the person who suggested listening to this CD in hell could go there and send us a report after his stay! Keep up the good work and that continued sense of humor CW! BTW ronwelte when you return from hell feel free to send us the CD! SMILE!

Enjoy the variety on this CD. The songs vary from beautiful and patrioic to extremely funny. Though not exactly the classic Mannheim Steamroller style, it is a great collection!

I purchased this cd for two reasons. First, cause I'm patriotic and second because I'm a fan of "Mannheim Steamroller". This cd is great!!! This cd is certainly going to be played on July 4th. from now on and of course when I'm feelin my American Spirit. Buy this one, it's good. Enjoy:)

Like so many others, I bought this CD because is reminded me of all the cartoons from my childhood- when cartoons were worth getting up at 7am on a Saturday morning to see. Great CD. It is unfortunate that it is OOP now, and therefore can cost a pretty penny.

There is no beating this classic album. This is Patty and Michael Silversher at their best. It's great for both kids and adults: Disney collecters will kill for this album. The songs are sweet, catchy, and timeless. The studio versions of the songs blow the original recordings out of the water. This is Disney back when it was having its big bang revival, and is miles away from the train wreck that the studio is today. The writing and musical talent on these tracks are superb. Bonus creds go to Mark Mueller, who wrote two themes(Ducktales and Chip&Dale Rescue Rangers), and to Dean Pitchford and Tom Snow, who wrote the DA theme.

I used to listen to this when I was a kid at christmas time, but when I was a teenager, I used the vinyl to practice my DJ skills.... and ruined it. I was so happy to find it brand new on Amazon. I admit a big reason I like it so much is the nostalgia factor, although many of the songs are well done, especially Disney's take on "The Twelve Days of Christmas." On the other hand, one of the songs features actress Molly Ringwald singing solo, and she is horrible. Sounds like a screech owl. Outside of that song, the rest of the album is classic. If you like the Disney characters, buy this vinyl.

I've had this album since I was a very young child. Every year my mom still breaks out the record player so we can listen to it. Even though I'm now grown with my own children, it is still my favorite! Brings back lots of childhood Christmas memories. A few years ago, I had a friend burn it onto a CD for me so that I could listen to it with my children....I really wish that it was available to buy on CD since the quality of my copy is not all that great, but it is still fun and my children love it as much as I did (DO!). It even has Molly Ringwald singing on it! You won't be dissapointed in it!

It's wonderful to see Chip and Dale again. I just would have liked it if there were more than just three shorts! Luckily, the ones that they included is one where they are at odds with Pluto, and another where they are at odds with Donald Duck. Classic!

I love Disney movies and am trying to start my collection again since I lost many videos as a young child, but one movie that I did purchase was this one and just seeing it made me feel like a kid again. Being hearing impaired, I would love to turn up the sound to hear the little pitter patters of Chip N'Dale. Anyone who is a child at heart should get this movie! Amy

this tape contains "donald applecore" "working for peanuts" "dragon around" feature running time 22min color not rated chip and dale cartoons are awesome and the one's with donald duck are even better collect as many of these classic cartoons as you can get your hands on

Even though this video is "Starring Chip and Dale" Donald Duck is really the star, you can tell when you see Donalds head on the title card and then it disolves to another title card that reads "A Walt Disney Donald Duck".

On this video you get 3 cartoons that do not officaly star the chipmunks,Donald Duck is really the star(you can tell when the title card shows donald's head and reads"A Walt Disney Donald Duck")anywhey i liked all of these cartoons and wish disney would replay them(as well as other disney cartoons)on TV

This movie, along with Bongo, I bought today... and it is such a funny movie... The chimpmunks are a little mean but they're very Cute... I got a lot of laughs, and I'm 19 years old.. still intrigued in Walt Disney... So believe it or not, I rate this 5 stars!

I LOVE CHIP and DALE. I do. I actually love all chipmunks, but they're by far my favorites. I remember the three cartoons on this video from when they were played on TV during those Disney Specials on Channel 5. I just wish I had actually bought them while they were still in production! So if anyone can make that happen, I'm begging you, PLEASE re-release this video!

Adventures of Chip 'N' Dale - Walt Disney Adventures of Chip 'N' Dale - Walt Disney

Reviews

The fact that The Adventures of Chip n' Dale has no ratings or no reviews on Amazon saddens me. This is not an anthology special that should fade into obscurity. Cut in 1959, the show includes new "animated on real life" skits to open and close the included classic Chip n' Dale cartoons. Chip and Dale fill in for the role that Walt Disney would traditionally take in introducing the cartoons. The selection of cartoons was excellent, including: Two Chips and a Miss (1952) Chicken in the Rough (1951) Donald Applecore (1952) Up a Tree (1955) Chips Ahoy (1956) The Lone Chipmunks (1954) The clever cutting techniques and the inclusion of some segments from other shorts created the illusion that much of the show was one continuous story. This works especially well with Chicken in the Rough and Donald Applecore which are similary thematically. The animation was very lush and vibrant, and while it pales in comparison to the phenominal DVD transfers we have today, the cartoon still looked very good. Considering the original segments as well as the presence of a few cartoons (Donald Applecore and The Lone Chipmunks) which have yet to appear on a Disney DVD, this tape would be a lovely edition to anyone's collection, provided you still have the necessary equipment. Clocking in at just under 50 minutes, this special is fun, funny, and demonstrates perfectly Disney's ability to craft excellent animation for children and adults. It is a pity that it isn't available (along with some of its companion pieces) on DVD.

According to Disney, Chip is the logical schemer, and Dale is the dumb schemer. An easy way to visually tell them apart is that Chip has a small black nose (it looks a bit like a chocolate "Chip" as a way to help people remember who's who) and one centered protruding tooth, whereas Dale has a big red nose and his two prominent canines exposed. Chip is also depicted as having smooth, short fur atop his head while Dale's tends to be ruffled.

Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers

In 1989, Chip and Dale were chosen to be the title characters in a new animated series, Chip 'n' Dale Rescue Rangers, in which they form a detective agency with some new characters created for the show: female mouse inventor Gadget Hackwrench, strong-armed adventuring Australian mouse Monterey Jack, and Zipper the fly. While in the original shorts the duo are frequent troublemakers who are concerned only with themselves, in Rescue Rangers they are crime fighters who help the less fortunate.

In this series the personality differences between the two are much more pronounced, with Chip as the responsible, no-nonsense leader and Dale as the goofy, laid back free spirit. Additionally, they wear clothes in this series; Chip wears a coat and fedora akin to Indiana Jones while Dale wears a Hawaiian shirt akin to Magnum, P.I..
